The Do’s and Don’ts of Outdoor Weddings

The Do’s and Don’ts of Outdoor Weddings

Romantic? Yes.
Unpredictable? Also yes.
Here’s how to make the outdoors your ally (not your enemy).

🌿 DO: Think About Light, Not Just Location

  • Golden hour ceremonies = magic.
  • Midday sun = harsh shadows and squinting.
  • Shade is your friend.

            🌬️ DON’T: Underestimate the Wind

Windproof everything:

  • Velcro tablecloth clips
  • Styled but secure hair
  • Avoid super-light fabrics if the breeze is strong

☀️ DO: Prepare for Heat or Cold

  • Provide fans, parasols, and blankets depending on the season.
  • Choose breathable fabrics for your dress. Or a shawl if it gets cold
  • Hydrate Queen! Have water on tap scattered around the venue.

💦 DON’T: Ignore the Backup Plan

  • A rain plan is a sign of a smart bride.
  • Clear tents are descreete and gorgeous to not ruin the vibe
  • When in weather doubt install a cute umbrella station fro your guests

🌸 DO: Think About Nature as Part of the Design

  • Let flowers, vines, stone textures, and landscapes guide your palette.
  • Earth tones always photograph beautifully outdoors.
  • Pops of color can be inspired by natural color pops around you.

    🪲DON’T: Forget the Bugs

  • Citronella but make it chic — candles, sprays, or essential-oil diffusers.
  • Place some bug spray around the venue for guests to use.
